32 injured devotees returned home

Tirupati: 32 people injured in the stampede in the queue for issuance of Vaikuntha Dwara Darshanam token at Bairagipattada center returned home after treatment.
A total of 37 people were injured and treated at SVIMS, Sri Padmavati Women’s Medical College. Of them, 32 people have been discharged while five others are still undergoing treatment.
District officials led by Collector Dr S Venkateswara along with Municipal Corporation Commissioner Narapurareddy Maurya made arrangements for Lord Darshan and Vaikuntha Dwara Darshanam for him at Tirumala on Friday. He arranged vehicles to transport them to Visakhapatnam (AP), Vizianagaram (AP), Hyderabad (TS), Cuddapah (AP), Tiruppur (TN) and Coimbatore (TN).
It is to be noted here that Chief Minister Nara Chandra Babu Naidu, who met the injured in the hospital, assured them of their speedy recovery, darshan of the Lord and providing government assistance for their return journey.
The injured appreciated the district administration and thanked Chief Minister Naidu for the support and for providing special darshan of Lord Venkateswara and Vaikuntha Dwara Darshanam. Senior district officials were deployed to accompany the 32 people till they reached their locations.
