Andhra Pradesh Police has arrested 11 people for the attack on TDP office.

Vijayawada: Andhra Pradesh Police on Friday arrested 11 people, including a personal aide of YSR Congress Party (YSRCP) leader and former MLA Vallabhaneni Vamsi Mohan, in a case related to the attack on the Telugu Desam Party (TDP) office in Gannavaram last February. Year.
Vamsi’s personal assistant Raja was among those arrested by the police early Friday. The arrests were made from Vijayawada Rural, Gannavar, Bapulpadu, Ungutur and other places.
The former Gannavaram MLA was also named as an accused in this case. However, in August the Andhra Pradesh High Court directed the police to refrain from taking any coercive action against him.
The YSRCP leader is accused of instigating his supporters to vandalize the TDP office in his constituency in NTR district in February 2023, when the YSRCP was in power.
Vamsi had separated from TDP and joined YSRCP in 2020 and since then he has been close to TDP and its national president N. Chandrababu has been a vocal critic of Naidu.
The TDP office in Gannavaram was vandalized and cars of party leaders were damaged, allegedly by YSRCP workers and Vamsi’s followers. The miscreants also set two cars on fire. The incident took place after an alleged clash between TDP and YSRCP workers over some indecent remarks made by Vamsi against Chandrababu Naidu and TDP general secretary Nara Lokesh.
After the TDP-led coalition came to power in June, Vamsi’s house was reportedly attacked by TDP supporters. Vamsi also faced defeat from Gannavaram assembly constituency.
He was elected from the same seat as a TDP candidate in 2019, but later joined the YSRCP. After Chandrababu Naidu became the Chief Minister, a fresh investigation was initiated into cases related to attacks on TDP offices, including the 2021 attack on the party’s central office in Mangalagiri.
A large number of YSRCP supporters had allegedly attacked the TDP office on October 19, 2021, after TDP spokesperson Komareddy Pattabhi Ram made some objectionable remarks against the then Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy. Former YSRCP MLC Nandigama Suresh, MLCs Laila Appi Reddy and Talseela Raghuram and party leader Devineni Avinash are among those named in the TDP central office attack case.
In October, YSRCP general secretary and former government advisor Sajjala Ramakrishna Reddy was also questioned in the case.
