Tirupati: Former TTD president and Chittoor district president of YSR Congress Party Bhumana Karunakar Reddy has made serious allegations against TDP and its mismanagement during its tenure. He accused the TDP government of tarnishing the reputation and sanctity of TTD and called for immediate corrective steps.
Reddy criticized the TDP for the tragic stampede that took place under his watch, claiming that six people lost their lives and more than 60 were injured due to their incompetence and negligence. Demanding accountability for the tragic incidents, he said, “The sanctity of the Tirumala temple has been compromised under the administration of the TDP.” He also raised questions on unauthorized involvement of outsiders in the guise of software and artificial intelligence in TTD operations. He alleged that TTD Additional EO Venkaiah Choudhary played a major role in these irregularities, while unrelated officers like JEO M Gautami faced action. The YSRCP leader demanded immediate transfer of the additional EO and an investigation into the activities of alleged benami groups operating within the TTD. “Misusing the name of Lord Venkateswara for personal gain is unacceptable,” he said firmly.
