Man jailed for kidnapping and raping minor girl in Hyderabad

Hyderabad: A local court on Tuesday sentenced a man to 20 years of rigorous imprisonment in the kidnapping and rape of a minor girl case reported in Saroornagar in 2019. The court also imposed a fine of Rs 25,000 on him.

The accused, V Mahesh (23), a bike mechanic from Champapet in Saroornagar, had promised to marry the girl and kidnapped her. He locked her in a room and raped her.
Based on the complaint of the victim, Saroornagar police registered a case and arrested Mahesh.

The court ordered a compensation of Rs 5 lakh to the victim.
