Mid-day meals, insect-infected, served students in Kondapur government school

Hyderabad: On Saturday, the government school in Kondapur, Kotguda, included mid-day meals served children, including undercurcated rice and insects.

Angered by this, the parents staged a protest in front of the school with the wards, and questioned the school management about the insects in the undercut food. He often expressed concern over the children falling ill.

He said that despite repeated complaints from parents, the plight of his children was highlighted in schools, there has been no change in food.

Recalling that mid-day meals were once nutritious and well prepared, parents expressed their ire on the deteriorating quality of food due to lack of supervision in the preparation of food which should be done with cheap quality ingredients. Had been.

The parents wanted the school management to immediately eliminate the services of the mid-day meal contractor. He warned of protests in the Meo office, if necessary and immediate intervention was not taken to improve the quality of mid-day meals.

In the last one year, a large number of food poisoning cases and sub-standard food served to students have come into the limelight.

Some students of Adivasi Kalyan School fell ill after being served with worm-worked food on 28 January in Mahabubabad. Two days later, about 50 students from various government -run schools in Kamardi, Narayanpet and Suryapet districts fell ill, sick due to food poisoning.
