Sexist comment on Telugu actor: Director Trinadha Rao releases a video and apologizes for his comment

Director Trinadha Rao Nakkina has created a stir with his distasteful and sexist comments about Telugu actor Anshu, who is making a comeback with his upcoming directorial venture ‘Mazaaka’.
The incident happened recently at a promotional event organized for the film. While the actress maintained her composure with a dignified and graceful smile, her co-stars Sandeep Kishan and Ritu Verma, who were present at the event, were clearly uncomfortable with the director’s comments.
Netizens and fans of the actor took to social media to express their displeasure, and criticized the director for his tasteless comments about the actor’s physical appearance and ‘size’. Taking his comments as an endorsement, the Telangana State Commission for Women has decided to send a legal notice to the director, according to a statement issued by Women Commission Chairperson Nerela Sharda.
Following this outrage, director Trinadha Rao has now released a video and apologized for hurting the sentiments of women with his comments and gestures.
“I realize that my comments at the teaser release event have hurt women. Whatever happened was accidental and not something I did intentionally. I apologize to all the women I have inadvertently offended with my comments. I am also going to apologize to Anshu Garu. I also have girls at home and it was not my intention to hurt anyone. I was just trying to create some light moments in the program but never thought that my comment would become such a big issue. I request everyone to please forgive me,” the director said in the video.
