The government makes scope for quota 42% BC in local bodies

Hyderabad: The Telangana government has prepared a strategic action plan to secure support from backward communities (BCS) in the upcoming local body elections. In an important step, the state will provide a statutory status for reservation for 42% BC in the budget session of the assembly scheduled for the first week of March.
After the law is enacted, the state will conduct local body elections, which will ensure reservation for BCS at various levels including wards, panchayats, municipalities and district council levels.
A high-level meeting chaired by Chief Minister A Revantha Reddy reviewed the report of the dedication commission on BC Kota in the local body elections and pledged to approve its recommendations in the upcoming cabinet meeting.
Additionally, a two -hour powerpoint presentation on the census of the caste will be held on Friday, with the participation of the Chief Minister, Cabinet Ministers and intellectuals. During the session, input and suggestions from various stakeholders will be considered for effective implementation of the recommendations of the dedication commission and optimal use of caste survey.
Supporting the stand of Congress leader Rahul Gandhi on caste census, Chief Minister Revantha Reddy announced that a state -level delegation under his leadership, Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Ministers, who would meet the nationwide caste during the budget session of Parliament Will advocate the census. Congress MPs will also raise this issue in both Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha. Addressing the media after the meeting, Deputy Chief Minister Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka stressed that BC Kota will be strictly implemented in the local body elections based on the findings of the caste survey. The government searched for the support of opposition parties to pass the bill during the budget session. He decided to provide a statutory status to BC Kota as a historic step in India.
To ensure comprehensive data collection, the government will allow families to be excluded from the initial caste survey to enter their details in toll-free numbers, online platforms and MDP offices between February 16 and February 28. The deputy CM also urged. BRS leaders of Chandrashekhar Rao, KT Ram Rao, and other political leaders to participate in the extended caste survey and enter their details.
Congress leaders believe that under the leadership of Revantha Reddy, the party’s efforts to raise collective awareness about the benefits of caste survey and BC quota in local body elections will effectively counter opposition stories.
