Tirupati stampede incident: Deputy CM Pawan Kalyan apologizes and calls for TTD to be purged

Following the disastrous Tirupati stampede incident, Andhra Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan apologized and accepted full responsibility for the disaster. Pawan Kalyan, who was at the spot on behalf of the state government, expressed regret to the relatives of the deceased and the followers of Lord Venkateswara.

Pawan Kalyan on Tirupati stampede incident: Responsibility and remorse

Pawan Kalyan had made it clear that he would not shirk responsibility. He admitted that six people lost their lives and twenty-four were injured in the Tirupati stampede incident, even when police and TTD officials were present there. Expressing his grief, he said, “I take full responsibility for this regrettable incident and will not run away from it.” He expressed deep condolences to the families of the victims and personally apologized.

TTD demands purification and stricter measures

Pawan Kalyan, who visited Tirupati, stressed the importance of thoroughly investigating the tragedy and said that although some police personnel bravely saved lives, others were careless. He demanded an explanation from TTD, holding the TTD Executive Officer (EO) and additional EO responsible. He also suggested that TTD board members personally meet the families of the deceased and apologise.

Pawan Kalyan said, “Strict action should be taken against those responsible for the negligence and the police action should be thoroughly investigated.”

Police response criticized

Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan also reprimanded the police for their inability to control the crowd during the event. He lamented the inability of the police to control the situation, which resulted in a stampede, especially after such a horrific incident.

As the investigation into the Tirupati stampede incident progresses, Pawan Kalyan has promised to take strict action against all those involved. He underlined that the state administration is committed to prevent similar incidents in future and will make changes in TTD to enhance the overall experience of devotees.
