Heavy rains to hit coastal Andhra Pradesh as depression to make landfalls

A cyclonic circulation has developed in the north-west and west-central Gulf of Bengal, located far from South Odisha and Northern Andhra Pradesh. The system is moving at a speed of 10 km/h for the last six hours and is currently located about 60 km from Puri, 70 km from Gopalpur (Odisha), and 180 km from Kalingapatnam (Andhra Pradesh). Meteorologists indicate that cyclonic circulation is expected to make landfalls near Gopalpur.
In the light of these developments, the Andhra Pradesh State Disaster Management Authority has warned the residents of liberal to heavy rainfall in many districts of the state.
Today (Saturday), Krishna, NTR, Guntur and Palanadu districts are expected to rain rainfall. Additional rainfall is expected in Prakasam, Kurnool and Nandyal districts, while other areas may receive light to moderate rainfall. The coastal areas may experience the facial winds flowing at a speed of 40–60 km/h, making the authorities motivate the public to be vigilant.
The Meteorological Department of India has issued a warning of thunderstorms, lightening and strong winds in coastal areas and Rayalaseema from Saturday morning to Sunday morning. Heavy rainfall is forecast in Srikakulam, severalam, alluri, Eluru, NTR, Palanadu, Prakasam, Quranul, Nandyal and Anantapur districts.
The fishermen are specially warned by the Visakhapatnam Cyclone Warning Center to avoid going out of the sea due to dangerous conditions expected along the coast.
