NSS general secretary ‘Sabarimala’ is firm in the meeting

Thiruvananthapuram: Nair Service Society (NSS) General Secretary G Sukumaran Nair on Saturday called the Pinarayi Vijayan government in the last week meeting convened by the Travancore Devaswom Board on Saturday, reiterating his stand in support of the Pinarayi Vijayan government, which manages the Sabarimala temple.
Perunna, speaking to the media before addressing a public meeting at the NSS headquarters in Changnacherry, said Nair said that he had already made his post clear and “nothing further added.”
Nair responded to the ongoing protests against him from a part of the NSS units, saying, “Those who want to protest can continue, but it will not change my stance. Those who want to protest may move forward. It is their choice, and it is direct.”
He said that the protests would only give him “a little publicity” and emphasized that there is no need to question his situation again and again.
Later, after the meeting, he told the media that he was responding to the recently held ‘Sabarimala’ meeting, which was held with full support of the Vijayan government.
Nair said, “The same policy in politics has been for NSS since the days of Mannathu Padmanabhan, and there has been no change.”
The meeting, mainly to approve the annual income and expenditure details of the NSS, has attracted attention due to Nair’s firm political stance, especially on the Sabarimala issue, which has been a point of controversy in Kerala politics.
With protests in different parts of the state, Nair’s position is expected to generate more debate within the assembly.
In the meantime, the leader of the opposition VD Sathasan criticized the Vijayan government’s policy on Taula, Sabarimala in the controversy, which has repeatedly changed.
“For the Congress-led UDF, we have only one place-a secular approach in the world, which has always been continuously,” said Satheson.
He accused Vijayan of changing his perspective for years, claiming, “Recently, Vijayan was banking on a minority community appeasement strategy, and when the award failed to win, he moved to the majority community appeasement. We have always maintained a really secular situation.”
This comment underlines the polarized debate around the surrounding Sabarimala, where political affiliation and public sentiment differences.
While Nair dismissed the protests as inconsistency still accepts his propaganda, the criticism of the satisfaction reflects the opposition’s widespread concern over the alleged changes in the government’s policy.
As the NSS meeting goes ahead in Perunna, authorities are ready to finalize financial matters, and a spotlight on the General Secretary’s trend and its wave effects across the state.
