Preparation by Gulf Telangana NRI in front of Bathukamma

Dubai: The Telangana NRI community is in full swing for the Bathukamma Festival in a grand way in the Gulf countries.

Thanks to the separate state movement, the Bharat President Committee (BRS) has brought the cultural spirit of Bathukamma among Telangana migrant people abroad. Dubai, known by his migrants as a mini-telangana, is leading with many programs of floral festival in the region. Some major Telangana folk singers are ready to do their shows in events.

This year, female MP DK Aruna will be the chief guest for the festival in Dubai next week. Apart from Aruna, Nizamabad MP D. Arvind and Telangana BJP President N. Ramchander Rao is also scheduled to attend the Bathukamma festival in Dubai on 27 September.

The oldest and young woman Telangana NRI organization GTCWA in Dubai is set to celebrate Bathukamma on Sunday. President Juvvadi Srinivasa Rao and Secretary Salhuddin say, “We are the first ones who introduced Bathukamma in Dubai a few 17 years ago and since then we have been celebrating it purely in family traditional patterns”.

According to the organizers, another Telangana Community Association in Dubai is also celebrating the same day.

The Telugu Association of Dubai (TAD) is planning to perform a festival after a year’s gap on 26 September, where the large crowd is expected to attract, President Mohammad Masuddin and Secretary Dinesh said.

According to President Raja Srinivasa Rao, in Abu Dhabi, the Telangana Friends Association has made all arrangements to celebrate the festival on 27 September.

For the first time in Saudi Arabia, the Telugu Community Organization, JTM, is set to celebrate the Bathukamma Festival at the Indian Consulate at Jeddah.

“We feel excited to celebrate our festival for the first time in the public scene in the consulate”, Rajanna Srinivas, a native of Sirkila district and a resident of Jeddah, commented.

In Bahrain, the Telangana Festival is being celebrated with the Andhra Pradesh community in a local park on Friday and similarly in Dammam, Saudi Arabia, the Telangana community is also sharing a festive spirit with its counterparts from Andhra Pradesh as it is ready to celebrate with Dasra.

In Oman, ISC’s Telangana Wing is ready to celebrate the festival in a grand manner, while various community organizations celebrate a separate festival in Qatar.
