South Central Railway Issues Advisor for railway passengers

Hyderabad: To avoid inconvenience to railway users and ensure safety and security, South Central Railway (SCR) has issued an advice to railway passengers in view of the Secunderabad railway station upgradation work, which were running at a high speed.

Accordingly, on station entry and exit, in circulating areas, on platforms and on foot bridges, for easy identification and for smooth flow of passenger movement have been provided.

A new entry has been opened at Gate No. 2 in platform number 1 with a waiting hall with the general booking counter facility, interrogation and holding capacity of 750 passengers and with a waiting hall with 500 additional seating.

As soon as gate number 4 is closed, an additional entry was provided in gate number 3 and 3B (in front of Swetti Hotel). A new entry has been opened on gate number 8 in platform number 10 with general booking facility.

SCR officials stated that commercial inspectors have been deputed at the station and are being done to report the watch monitoring and to improve any failure of equipment and to take quick action if any unpleasant event arises. At any time, adequate ticket checking staff is made available at the station for crowd management.

The platforms were already being nominated well so that passengers could spread on the respective platforms instead of waiting on platforms 1 and 10 and run to catch the train at the last minute.

Officials said that there were frequent announcements about platforms, late arrival, the status of the disabled coach, etc. Additional RPF personnel were deployed on the entry and exit gates, platforms, concourse and legs that were on bridges to manage passenger flow efficiently. Adequate fire security inspections are being done and the fire safety protocol is being followed.
