Vijay takes the TVK campaign to Namakkal and Karur, 2026 targets the assembly pole

Chennai: Tamilaga Vatri Kazgam (TVK) leader and Tamil cinema star Vijay on Saturday took his assembly election campaign to Namakkal and Karur, continuing his weekly public outreach programs.
He addressed supporters at Namakkal this morning before going to Veluchampuram near Karur for a afternoon rally – especially at the same place where AIADMK General Secretary Edappi. Palaniswami held a big meeting recently.
Thousands of cadres made a route to welcome Vijay, who flew from Chennai in the first day. The police have made detailed security arrangements in both the districts.
Ground level strategy
Since formally launched TVK in early 2024, Vijay has converted the party into an organized political platform with a fan-driven initiative with district committees and structured outreach.
In October 2024, Vikrawandi, the first major public conference of TVK in Vilupuram attracts the huge crowd, the party was established as a challenger to establish the Dravidian players. The pace continued with the second state-level conference in Madurai in August 2025, where Vijay underlined the “people-first” agenda on corruption-free governance, quality education and youth employment.
Since then, Vijay has visited a large scale, adopting a strategy to visit two districts in each weekend-sometimes to join with rural and semi-urban voters spread until Sunday.
Symbolic move
The observers note that organizing a rally at Palaniswami’s recent site is a sign of TVK’s intention to fight traditional AIADMK strongholds in Western Tamil Nadu.
Inner sources in the party say Namkkal and Karur meetings are important in strengthening support in a politically mixed sector that will play an important role in the 2026 assembly results.
As the elections are near, TVK is working to convert Mas Cinema Appeal of Vijay into a structured political support, introducing itself as a reliable option for Dravidian’s big companies.
